Chapel Bookings at the Calon Lan Centre
PLEASE NOTE: At the moment our calendar only shows Tuesdays from 1pm to 4pm as available for Private Worship. This will be updated to include other options such as venue hire as and when lockdown restrictions are lifted in Wales. If you wish to book, then please use the online booking calendar at the bottom of the page.
Calon Lan Centre has some different booking options for groups of various sizes. We are host to a variety of concerts and events throughout the year in the main chapel, as well as booked events and regular group meetings in the small hall.
Why not consider booking our chapel or adjacent meeting room for your work, school, society or group event? You’ll find that we have unique, acoustically great facilities that could be perfect for what you are looking for!
We also welcome your interest in weddings at Calon Lan Centre. We are located inside Mynyddbach Chapel, the oldest Independent chapel in Swansea, Wales. This amazing chapel was the spiritual home of Daniel James who famously wrote “Calon Lan” (translated, “Pure Heart”) that’s sung all over Wales. What a place to be married!

Chapel
Our main Chapel Hall is our largest space available, and is frequently used for concerts and recitals of all types. The Chapel is the perfect place for weddings, concerts and larger meetings. The space looks like an old traditional Welsh Chapel, with pews and an altar with lectern. The space has been utilised successfully for singing competitions, choral concerts, open evenings, church meetings and fantastic presentations. The Chapel will soon have a customised sound system, details forthcoming. Maximum seating capacity: 450 persons.
Chapel Hall
Our Chapel Hall is our most versatile space that is frequently used by small-to-medium sized groups for meetings, lunches, presentations and wedding/funeral functions. The open space provides an ability to customise your seating and/or table arrangement to suit the needs of your function. This room has a sound system and projector for presentations. Groups must provide their own presentation equipment. Maximum capacity: 120 persons, 90 persons with tables.
Kitchen
Our kitchen may be rented in conjunction with another room for your event. It is equipped with a 4 burner gas range and oven, counter space and two commercial size sinks. You are welcome to bring food on the day of your event (ALL groups are expected to remove garbage and leftover food from the kitchen at the event’s end).
