Mynyddbach Chapel and the Calon Lân Centre 1640 – 2015

From September 2015 , we will be celebrating 375 years of nonconformity at Mynyddbach.  Mynyddbach is the Mother chapel to over 60 sister chapels in the Swansea and surrounding areas.  To celebrate this we have been busy renovating the chapel and grounds and on Friday 9th October at 7pm we will be holding a concert with the Pontarddulais Male Voice Choir and special guests.  Tickets are £10 on the door. The Concert on Friday will be the first time the reordered and renovated chapel will be used; the renovations have created a very versatile space for concerts, Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms and many other activities.  This concert will be held under the banner of the Calon Lân Centre which is a registered charity set up to give communities a sense of belonging and cultural identity using the history of the local area and the story of Calon Lân to bring people together.  The Trustees of the Centre have also been busy making the new section of the Cemetery available for new burials and working with CARING FOR GODS ACRE – a national charity set up to help chapels look after their grounds we have made available over 300 new burial plots in the newest section of the cemetery.

We look forward to welcoming you!
